ProMedica Health System Ambulette Attendant - PTN - Full Time - Variable in Toledo, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY An Ambulette Attendant's primary function is to provide non-emergency transport via wheelchair van, independently ensuring the safe transport of individuals. This position reports directly to the Field Supervisor. The Ambulette Attendant provides non-emergent medical transportation under the supervision of the Field Supervisor, Operations Manager, and the guidance of the Medical Director.
Operates and maintains the PTN vehicle in a safe and deployment-ready condition. Provides safe and efficient customer service to clients during non-emergent medical transports.
Accountabilities:
- Supports and adheres to the State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures.
- Maintains PTN vehicles in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Document checks of PTN vehicle and equipment every shift.
- Practices safe patient handling and driving techniques in accordance with State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures. Shall be accountable for their actions.
- Proficient with electronic devices for communication, direction, and documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Skills: Work independently and make decisions outside of a controlled environment. Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; effective interpersonal skills are required. Must communicate effectively and possess excellent public relations skills. Must maintain composure and use tact in stressful situations. Must remain functional in a moving vehicle. Years of Experience: Two (2) years of driving experience License: Valid driver’s license (Meeting underwriting guidelines for ProMedica vehicle operations). Certification: Current AHA CPR and basic first aid
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS License: Michigan licensure Certification: Ohio-Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS Personal Protective Equipment: N/A Physical Demands: Must be able to move between related facilities and endure prolonged periods of standing. Must frequently move, lift, or carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to tolerate working in inclement weather. Must tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and odors such as various exhaust fumes.
