We are looking for a Technology Specialist specializing in Security solutions. You will work collaboratively and virtually with the Security Digital Solution Area Specialist to accelerate technical execution of Microsoft's strategic business priorities – selling best-in-class cloud services and platforms to our managed customers and building digital transformation momentum for our customers, partners, and Microsoft.

You will spend up to 75% of your work hours a week on qualified customer work – planning and orchestration, preparation, delivering customer requests (technical presentations, demos, trials, POCs, compete positioning, workshops, etc.), 25% on staying sharp on technical, industry and compete expertise.

Your primary goal is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our range of security-focused solutions including AI, extended detection and response (XDR), SIEM, extended security posture management (XSPM), zero trust and multi cloud security.

Responsibilities

You will be the primary technical point of contact for potential customers during the sales process, owing and driving technical win for security opportunities

  • Deep technical understanding of Microsoft security architectures, solutions and technologies

  • Coordinate weekly with sellers and managers to understand and prioritize opportunities, compete scenarios and engagements to focus on

  • Re-mediate blockers and ensures technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies. Engages with and reaches out to customers pro-actively and independently; builds credibility with customers as a trusted adviser for Microsoft Security.

  • Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client's security posture, shapes technical win plan and tailors Microsoft messaging to audience for security opportunities.

  • Leads technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, architecture design sessions, explain, demonstrate, and architect the solution to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.

  • Demonstrates and oversees proof of concepts, presents and applies architecture patterns, proves capabilities and integration into customer environment, and drives cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for security. Leverages insights and coaches' teams to align new or changing technology to customer security needs.

  • A technical specialist is responsible for engaging and scaling with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle. Engaging partners in sell-with scenarios and supporting their technical capabilities is key to scaling solution delivery.

  • You will stay sharp, share your knowledge and best practices enabling further scale and growth for the Security business.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years’ experience with developing and delivering customer demos/proof of concepts for Security across competitive offerings

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.

  • Certification in Microsoft 365 Security Administration or Cloud Security

  • One or more of Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, etc. is preferred

  • Advising Client Technical Decisions: Business Knowledge, Competitive Analysis, Driving Insight-Led Conversations, Strategic Technical Planning, Technology Industry Knowledge

  • Demonstrating Microsoft Solution Capabilities: Cloud Security, Formal Presentation Delivery and Storytelling, Microsoft Products, Pilots and Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Product Demonstration, Third Party Applications

  • Readiness for Deployment: Architecture Design, Problem Solving, Quality Assurance, Troubleshooting
