The PBPSC team builds and maintains regulatory expertise and uses it to influence safe and compliant product selection and development. Our team implements controls to protect our customers and the earth throughout the life of the product through audits, investigations, and program reviews.

This role focuses on safety and compliance policy and strategy for our Japan Marketplace. Do you have a passion for product safety? Key job responsibilities

•Support compliance requirements for product launch operations across Japan and the APAC region.

•Collaborate with teams within PBPSC to establish and implement processes to execute against established policies.

•Provide accurate product risk assessments and classifications for products to internal business units and outside service providers to ensure regulatory compliance with product safety regulations in APAC region (primarily Hardlines products).

•Work with Amazon’s internal technology teams to develop creative and best-in-class product compliance business processes that scale.

•Manage and resolve competing perspectives of stakeholders to drive conformity

• Provide guidance to business and legal teams on product safety and compliance complexities

•Collaborate with program managers on engagement plans with local and regional regulatory authorities on compliance and regulatory topics, law enforcement, requirements and recall processes.

•Engage with local regulatory agency (METI) on technical, safety, and compliance topics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

  • Experience with regulatory filings and reports or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

  • Experience with SQL and Excel
