Amazon Logistics Japan is looking to hire an experienced Program Manager to lead the launch for an innovative new logistics business that will unlock unexplored opportunities. This is a great opportunity to join an entrepreneurial business that is growing at an incredible pace. You will be part of the core Operations team that will be handling the Amazon business and operations across all legs of the supply chain (first mile, middle mile and last mile). You will also be coordinating the continuous improvement and operational excellence projects in Japan to deliver a world class customer experience.

You will be a natural self-starter with solid leadership skills, comfortable navigating large, complex, and cross functional business operations. Your true hands-on approach, operational inclination, analytical skills, and the ability to build and leverage relationships across a wide stakeholder group will enable you to generate creative solutions to industry level strategic problems. As this position involves regular interaction with various functional teams and people at all levels of the organization, you need to be comfortable communicating robustly with them. This position also requires collaboration with stakeholders from around the world, and you will be expected to undertake international business trips to destinations including the US and India.

Key job responsibilities

Responsible for new business launches including:

  • Project Management: lead and manage successful launches of a new logistics business in multiple regions across Japan by coordinating multiple workstreams and stakeholders across business, ops, and tech.

  • Operations readiness: Design granular first mile, middle mile, and last mile operations that will achieve best-in-class safety, speed, quality, and cost, and develop SOPs by partnering with actual operating orgs such as Relay Operations Center (ROC), Sort Centers (SCs), and Delivery Stations (DSs).

  • Risk and compliance management: assess and address operating risks and compliance in corporation with the legal/risk management teams.

  • BRD creation: define business requirements for tech development and configuration and create a BRD.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • 2+ year experience in operations field

  • Business Level Japanese (Written and Spoken)

  • Business Level English (Written and Spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Experience in program or project management

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams

  • Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
