Amazon JP Compliance Manager - Payments and AML Regulations, Japan Compliance Team in Tokyo, Japan

Description

The Japan Compliance team is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager with experience in Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA) regulations covering Prepaid Payment Instruments, and AML and ASF regulations.

The Compliance Manager is responsible for providing AML, ASF and regulatory advisory subject matter expertise across lines of business offering payments and prepaid cards at Amazon. The role holder will assist business units and compliance program teams in understanding the Japan compliance obligations required to launch products that meet the bar with respect to JFSA laws and regulations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Understand the payments business in Japan including AML and ASF and proactively provide regulatory compliance requirements to enable it to grow and better service our customers.

  • Work with legal teams to understand applicable AML, ASF and financial services regulations and regulatory risks associated with launching or changing products;

  • Monitor regulatory change and provide technical guidance to the business on relevant regulatory issues that impact our compliance program, and assist where needed with implementation of regulatory developments;

  • Assist with compliance reviews as part of the Compliance Monitoring Plan and provide enhancement recommendations as required to the business;

  • Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Compliance Officer Team including required sign-offs and approvals;

  • Work with business leads to identify and collate relevant information to respond to requests for information from auditors and regulators in a timely way.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Business level English & Japanese (both written and oral communication)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
