The WW Amazon Private Brands (APB) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated and organized self-starter Finance Manager to support the scaling of our high-growth Private Brands business in Japan. This role will be the key Finance Partner for the Japan Hardlines and Softlines Private Brands, managing financial analysis, reporting and planning and supporting business leaders with actionable insights and recommendations to achieve our goals and initiatives. This is a high exposure opportunity that requires strong leadership to influence business decisions and partnership with multiple business teams. The ideal candidate will be a creative and analytical problem solver who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, a collaborative leader to work with a dynamic network of Business and Finance partners, and an innovator to drive continuous improvement and automation in P&L analysis, planning and reporting processes. He/she enjoys working with a diverse group of individuals, and have a proven ability to dive deep to solve complex business and finance problems.

Key job responsibilities

• Partner with JP APB leadership to develop the vision and short, mid and long-term strategy

• Provide Private Brands leadership support by publishing timely financial reports, appendices and insights for Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, and Operational Planning docs

• Create meaningful reporting and analysis structure that will drive business improvements and recommend cost reductions

• Lead and present the annual plan, with detailed financials by division/categories and strategic initiatives

• Recommend, develop and implement financial controllership tools to guide our business partners in achieving our yearly topline and profitability goals

• Work with partner teams including category finance to deliver continuous improvements to worldwide planning and reporting processes

• Serve as the key Finance stakeholder in cross functional teams (PMs, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing) and partner with global teams across NA, EU and JP

• Partner with the central Business Intelligence team to standardize and centralize key business performance metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to improve Controllership with measurable results experience

  • Strong English language skills, written and verbal, with ability to concisely summarize relevant data and convey results by effectively articulating complex messages.

  • A self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates financial acumen and experience delivering quantitative analyses.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to solve complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Proficient in spoken/written Japanese language
