U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command Logistics Management Specialist in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania
Summary About the Position: Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 1 year 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Responsibilities Coordinate with Logistics Management Specialists and other members of a project team to schedule work orders and communicate daily and weekly schedule requirements from the master scheduler to the shop supervisor. Provide production shops with monthly requirements, ensure the schedule is reflective of shops capacity, skill and current manpower, and communicate off schedule conditions and downtime problems that may affect the ability to meet the schedule. Monitor compliance of the schedules and identify schedule discrepancies so decisions can be made on any off-schedule conditions. Maintain inventory of stored assets, and ensure assets are available to deliver to prime work center in accordance with appropriate directives. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves: 1) Updating production schedules, coordinating and scheduling new programs, new priorities, necessary changes, and program completions in order to meet goals and deadlines; AND 2) Correlating and analyzing a variety of routine production data and processes to support workload schedules; AND 3) Reporting on the status of production schedules and working with customers to resolve problems to include negotiating possible changes. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Supply, Operations or Logistics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
