Veralto Procurement Agent in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Mexico
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Procurement Agent will be responsible for procurement of chemicals in country that are regionally/locally sourced and will support Global Category Managers in executing on the global sourcing strategies of globally negotiated items.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure supplier quality, delivery, cost, lead time, inventory, service level, and risk mitigation goals are met
Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve identified sourcing strategies
Plan and perform negotiations with suppliers for assurance of supply, contract terms, and pricing
Prepare contract agreements and other documentations as needed
Execute on projects that will achieve year over year price savings within the managed category
Responsible for vendor set ups, new product requests and product updates and vendor master maintenance and other activities within ChemTreat’s ERP system.
Develop an overall supplier base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies
Develop and deliver clear category management plans, fully aligned with Global Category Managers
Develop and deliver clear category management plans that will include but are not limited to:
Evaluating existing supply relationships, volume allocations and spend.
Set goals and objectives based upon annual requirements and business objectives.
Review with impacted business leaders for alignment.
Oversee supplier related activities and monitor supplier performances. Coordinate with suppliers to resolve supply, quality, and performance related issues
Communicate and collaborate with Global Category Managers to identify in-country sources of supply for cost reduction, risk mitigation and supply assurance
Conduct commodity specific competitor and industry analysis to identify cost, material selection,
manufacturing techniques and materials sourcing to improve the company’s competitive position
Stay informed of changing environmental, social responsibility and diversity standards, regulations, & laws
Coordinate the efforts of cross-functional groups to improve Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
Explore and develop alternate sources of supply to reduce risk and increase competition
Lead the analysis of relevant markets and provide insight from that analysis to internal and external customers
Play an active role in resolving critical quality and delivery issues with suppliers; comprehensive ownership of supplier performance.
Build cost models for price forecasting and to secure better than market pricing
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and pull data for weekly management reviews
Communicate and collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Product Technology, Corporate Services, R&D, Logistics, and Supply Chain
Act as focal point and communicate actual and potential material availability problems, and lead activities to mitigate disruptions and other supply risk.
Identify, plan and monitor implementation of Root Cause/Corrective Action plans to short term and permanent solutions to material supply issues
Other duties as assigned
Coordinates with demand planners to improve inventory turnover
Involvement in the local leadership of the business operations

Strong financial acumen and experience in business case development, cost modeling and other financial decision approaches
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across categories, commodities, suppliers and business functions
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
Comfortable with ambiguity and directional changes
Clear, concise communicator, able to translate complex messages into commonly understood terms
Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong Microsoft skills: excel, word, power point
SAP or equivalent system knowledge
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum one to two years’ experience in raw material procurement or demand planning
Five to seven years of strategic sourcing or category management experience, preferably in Chemicals industry
Global sourcing experience preferred
Chemical Engineering experience, education, or acumen preferred
MBA preferred
