Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the X-37B program in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

This position will support the X-37B which is the United States’ most advanced, state-of-the-art reentry space craft. Boeing is the prime contractor for the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), an unmanned space vehicle that is used by the United States Air Force to explore reusable space vehicle technologies in support of long-term space objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Basic knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures

  • Maintains 100k Cleanroom environment

  • Demonstrates increased skill level in construction to include rough-in and lay-out

  • Able to read basic blueprints and becomes familiar with building codes

  • Demonstrates increased skill level in the repair and maintenance of plant and office facilities.

  • Uses hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of custodial tasks and cleaning processes

  • Possesses and applies knowledge of cleaning processes to clean, shampoo, scrub, polish and/or wax specialized flooring such as carpet, marble, terrazzo, stone, and tile

  • Anticipates egress/ingress safety concerns and places floor mats as necessary at entrances to ensure tenant safety

  • Plans and arranges team schedules in support of daily cleaning activities and revises schedule if warranted

  • Obtains and provides information to lessen customer business disruption during custodial activities

  • Maintains awareness of supply levels and initiates reorder when supply goes below required levels

  • Tracks orders, maintains documentation and ensures supply delivery to required areas

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years' experience in facility/plant repair and maintenance

  • Experience working with hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment

  • The ability to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights with or without equipment assistance

  • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Trade School (ABET Certified Preferred) or Aerospace Technology Technician Certification or training in addition to high school diploma or GED

  • Experience in maintenance, building repairs, cleaning and other janitorial work

  • Basic understanding of 100k and 10k cleanroom standards

  • Experience cleaning and disinfecting various surfaces

  • Experience operating Fork lifts and/or Man lifts

  • Experience managing inventories and ordering within an automated database

  • Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

This position is for 1st shift with possible 2nd shift work

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: USD $56,950 – $77,050
