Examples of Duties
Ensure IT systems and processes align with governance and compliance frameworks, including ITIL and CJIS, to maintain high standards of security and operational integrity.
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for all IT systems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of issues to support uninterrupted business operations.
Participate actively in IT projects and initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement in network infrastructure.
Stay abreast of the latest technologies and trends in the IT industry, leveraging this knowledge to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
A skilled Senior Network Administrator will have experience with many of the systems we support which include: Windows Server environments (2008-2022), Windows desktop operating systems (10+), experience with Linux (specifically Debian and CentOS distributions), experience with Microsoft Azure, Nutanix AOS/AHV, VMware vSphere/vCenter, and Citrix VDI/DaaS, Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto PAN-OS, Juniper JunOS, and Ubiquiti UniFi

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field, AND
Five (5) years of responsible network management, computer systems, systems analysis, or related experience. Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Supplemental Information
Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Work schedule 4 days/10 hour days. There is an opportunity for remote work up to 50% of the time. Participate in on-call rotations.

Compensation: The annual range for this exempt position is $94,590.55-$123,677.60. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the city’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $111,309.84 annually.

Working Conditions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various City and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
