Heidelberg University Data Analyst in Tiffin, Ohio

Data Analyst

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Data Analyst will be primarily responsible for assisting departments across campus in the reporting of data via the Edify Cloud Data Warehouse, Argos, and other software packages.  This position will additionally be responsible for assisting with the management of systems in the Banner environment and the Edify Cloud Data Warehouse. This position will start on or after October 1, 2024.

 

The U.S. Department of Education's Title III Grant Award to Heidelberg University (Grant Award Number P031A230004, CFDA 84.031A,  Data Integration and Storage to Support Student Access and Success ) will pay this five-year grant-funded position at Heidelberg University, starting no sooner than October 1, 2023, and retained no longer than September 30, 2028.   The total grant awarded for year one is $421,255; the total award amount estimated over five years is $2,165,318 (estimated at 74% of the total project).  Nonfederal grant match toward this federal award is estimated at $770,974 (26% of the total project) over the five-year grant performance period. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

The Data Analyst is directly supervised by the Chief Information Officer and may receive indirect supervision from the Title III Project Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Utilize Edify, Argos, and other software tools to create and maintain reports for internal and external use

Create and maintain visualizations and dashboards

Participate in Data Governance activities

Maintain high accountability for project outcomes

Assist with the development and maintenance of the necessary procedures to allow the interfacing of Banner with University approved 3rd party products

Collaborate with the Owen Center for Teaching and Learning, Computer Network & Information Technology, Student Affairs, and other campus offices and stakeholders to advance Title III project goals and objectives

Provide data and input on all Title III reports

Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Title III project

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Professional Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited 4-year university

Experience with reporting tools

Experience with dashboards and visualizations

Experience with analytics tools

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited 4-year university;

Three (3) three years of experience in higher education; 

Experience with Argos and/or Edify

Ability to analyze and interpret institutional data to support decision-making
