Forge Battery Community Benefits Plan Manager

Summary/Objective

Forge Battery is a is a forward-thinking company specializing in cutting-edge battery technology solutions using our Atomic Armor technology. As a Community Benefits Plan Manager, you must be passionate about our technology, and the community in which our plant will operate. We are seeking an experienced Community Benefits Plan Manager to join our team following the award of our funding grant. If you have a proven track record in working with Wake County, North Carolina's numerous community outreach programs, and are known for your creative thinking, we want to hear from you! As our Community Benefits Plan Manager, you will be a key player in expanding our footprint in the community in which we operate. Your role will involve leveraging your experience in managing government grant support, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creatively driving Forge Battery's outreach to the community to meet and exceed our targets.

You are responsible for working with our numerous community partners and in turn, working to deliver results and enhance the Forge Battery work environment with your passion, drive, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is an explorer and educator who has a passion for innovation and creativity to make our battery plant an outstanding place to work for our future employees.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Develop new relationships with local institutions and maintain an understanding of the institutions we work with and those we want to work with (i.e., Raleigh Dream Center, Town of Morrisville, NC Central University, local Boy and Girls Clubs, City of Oaks Foundation, etc.), Establish new Community Benefits Agreements. Attend monthly Community Advisory Board Meetings and report on progress between Forge Battery and its community partners in meeting milestones. Work in a team environment as well as independently. Provide guidance to our anchor partners around developing transportation, childcare, housing and/or other solutions as needed to break down barriers to gainful employment. Develop a working knowledge quickly of Forge Battery's products, the plant environment and the positions we will need to fill. Review Forge Battery's processes for outreach and recruitment to fill positions, ensuring materials and methods are culturally sensitive and inclusive. Work with purchasing and accounting and provide guidance to local suppliers that meet our minority/female, veterans-owned business guidelines. Follow well-defined strategic methodology to manage and grow our visibility with institutions and potential employees in the community. Prepare and deliver clearly articulated presentations for our partners and potential employees. Own our relationships with our community partners and work with them to maintain and enhance those relationships.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a STEM major and/or social science. 3+ years of experience as a Community Benefits Plan Manager and/or have worked with a community organization in reaching out to businesses to form partnerships. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to actively listen and distill key insights. Strong presentation and facilitation skills along with the ability to create meaningful communications for our community partners. Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate ability to manage projects (scope, budgets, and timelines)

Work Environment Majority of work is remote until the Batter Plant is up and running. Then this position will be a hybrid role.

Travel Frequent travel to community partner sites will be required. Majority of travel will be within the Wake County area. Expected travel is 30-50%.

Compensation/Benefits

$65K - 75K Medical/dental/vision/disability and life insurance, holidays, PTO, Flexible Spending Account, and 401(k) plan.
