To learn more, visit our benefits and perks page. __ Position Overview:The DigiKey Work Experience is focused on real work experience for high school seniors working within various departments within DigiKey. Employees will work in one of these two areas, Shipping or Receiving, to learn about and perform various duties in each of the mentioned areas. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 11:00am; no work on scheduled school holidays This is an essential onsite position. Responsibilities: Learn Shipping and Receiving functions and processes On a day-to-day basis, maylearnnewsoftware programs, process invoices, handle customer change order requests, opening freight and verifying accuracy, and enter information into the computer system Will move and place large products onto pallets Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Current high school student Must be 18 years or older Positive attitude and willingness to learn Perform multiple tasks quickly and accurately Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as a team player Consistent attendance is mandatory for success in this position Alphanumeric skills,basic computer navigation and typing skills Effective communication skills Must demonstrateintegrity and professional work ethic Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship Physical Requirements: Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motion Walk/stand on concrete throughout the workday Regularly lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height Ability to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs Ability to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level .
