Summary: The Sr. HR Business Partner oversees Human Resources function for the assigned region or business vertical. The role acts as a trusted advisor and provides leadership, guidance, and counsel to the team related to HR initiatives and company policies/programs involving performance management, talent development, associate relations, compliance issues such as EEO, RIF’s, office closures, safety, health, and worker’s compensation matters. The role also coordinates, develops, and administers programs, policies and procedures, as appropriate. The incumbent will require a deep understanding of business priorities and a proactive approach to align HR initiatives with business objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Partnerwith business leaders to understand objectives and drive HR solutions in collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence.

  • Manage performance and talent management processes to facilitate employee growth and internal mobility while coaching managers and associates on development.

  • Support change initiatives ensuring smooth transitions for associates and managers.

  • Serve as a consultant to management on HR related matters, including assisting managers in addressing employee relations issues and providing guidance on process and documentation.

  • Identify training opportunities based on business requirements and coordinate learning initiatives with Associate Leadership and Development.

  • Leverage HR metrics to identify trends, recommend HR solutions and initiatives to guide business decisions.

  • Oversee employment process and escalate issues as needed.

  • Coordinate, analyze and provide information on any legal issues. Handle all legal federal or state claims under direction of Corporate Legal Counsel.

  • Coordinate all Human Resources activities involved in company acquisitions. Conduct due diligence and analysis and coordinate orientation and training in order to bring new associates onboard.

  • Recommend changes and/or new policies and procedures as needed. Coach managers on policies and procedures aligning with company culture.

  • Participate in unemployment hearings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in Human Resources, with minimum of 5 years in a business partner role.

  • SHRP designation preferred.

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective interpersonal, relationship-building and collaboration skills.

  • Must be a good listener and be able to develop the trust of the HR team and associates at large.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to speak, hear, and sit most of the day.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to Human Resources: i.e. Civil Rights Act/Title VII, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation and Equal Pay Act.

  • Must be computer proficient and have experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and graphical software.

  • Some travel required.
