You manage technical and scientific professionals responsible for initiation and execution of programs. This is a leadership role in cross-functional teams and regularly interacts with RDQ and cross-functional senior management.

How you will contribute

You will lead regional and sub-regional teams to deliver on the quality strategy, providing sufficient resources and expertise to appropriate functions and locations. You will manage, lead, coach and develop a team of quality experts to execute regional and global quality programs, ensuring compliance with Mondelēz policies and procedures and adherence to external regional and local food safety/regulatory requirements in internal and external manufacturing locations and facilities. In this role, you will develop and report quality KPIs, applying your understanding of the impact regional KPIs have on the global business. In addition, you will facilitate communities of practice on quality related topics; represent the quality function at R&D meetings to ensure that sufficient resources and expertise are allocated to significant projects, and to ensure there are sufficient resources available so products meet design, food safety and quality policy requirements; identify quality enhancements and improvements across R&D and the supply chain; partner with technical groups such as food safety/micro and sanitation to ensure program compliance and enhancement, and; help manage special situations and early warnings with respect to plant investigations, root-cause analysis and follow-up for the SSMT, protecting Mondelēz’s interests and reputation.

  • Understanding of the commercial strategy process, product/package development process, food safety, plant commercialization, ingredient and package technology, coaching, and training in technical material

  • Statistical processes and problem-solving techniques

  • Working with third-party manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance to Mondelēz International’s policies and procedures

  • Working with customers on quality related issues

  • Working with service-vendors’ technical equipment to support compliance

What you need to know about this position:

This position leads the development of Quality strategies, with input into the business unit strategies. Key responsibilities of the position include input into policy development and leading the introduction, maintenance and continuous improvement of Quality practices across the organization.

Lead execution of Quality strategies and programs to support the cross-category business unit Quality in the BU. BU’s vary in complexity, size, scope and economic differences across our five categories (Biscuit, Chocolate, Gum & Candy, Powdered Beverages and Meals).

Accountable for quality programs for internal and external factories in SoCo BU, driving revenue in the BU. Internal factory Plant Quality Managers will report indirectly to this role. This role will ensure that our products, facilities, processes and systems meet the required Company and legislative quality standards through the Quality Supply Chain Management System and Quality Policy implementation across the organization.

Champion the BU Quality Pillar / Lean Six Sigma initiatives for the function as part of the Lean Six Sigma Journey established across the company.

Act as Special Situations Management Team (SSMT) Coordinator and Technical Lead for the BU in supporting the SSMT Leader (SoCo President).

Leverage Center Quality resources in Food Safety, Sanitation, Audit and Supplier Quality against BU priorities.

Working with the Region Quality Leader and QSARA LT, ensure a robust pipeline of talent to develop and place in Quality assignments in the region.

Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and customers at the BU level.

Responsible for BU Commercial Quality priorities (Quality practices from Plant through distribution to the Customer).

Job specific requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree .required with concentration in Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering or related field

  • Experience in Quality, Supply Chain and R&D (10 -15 yrs)

  • Knowledge of quality systems and policies, HACCP, ISO9001/22000, L6S (min 5 yrs)

  • Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams with strong people development skills (min 5 yrs)

  • Practical experience in Food and or Beverage categories, preferably high risk products, e.g.: Chocolate, Biscuits, cheese dairy, nuts (min 2+ yrs)

  • Excellent proactive attitude / drive for result.

  • Ability to lead by influence in a matrix organization.

  • Advanced level in English and Spanish

  • Strategic & learning agility

Work schedule: Hybrid model, requires visiting Thames’s office, Villa Mercedes’s plant, Pacheco’ plant & external manufacturers.

No Relocation support available, however for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
