Raytheon Technologies Mechanical Engineer II - Requirements & Verification in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

Job Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer in the Platform Integration Department for Raytheon Missiles & Defense programs.

As a Requirements and Verification Engineer,

you will:

Flow down, allocate and derive mechanical hardware requirements that reflect the architecture concepts and the system level requirements.

Determine gaps for existing/non-developed hardware against requirements

Develop and evaluate conceptual hardware architectures that will fit the requirements in partnership with the hardware design teams for integrated defense systems (eg. sensor, communication, command, control, power, etc.).

Effectively advocate the mechanical hardware engineering perspective when working within a design team environment that includes systems and electrical engineers.

Document requirements verification for formal submittal to the customer.

In this role you will be a member of the Platform Integration

Department within the Mechanical Products Team (MPT). The Platform Integration Department leads mechanical design, development and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development & site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration and production support.

The Mechanical Products Team (MPT) provides engineering design, integration, and production to a wide range of hardware in Missiles & Defense (RMD).

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

4+ years of broad-based engineering experience in the design, development, or manufacturing of hardware.

Experience with the interplay of performance, manufacturability, or reliability requirements in devising functional hardware architecture.

Desired Skills:

Experience with, and understanding of, DoD hardware or environmental requirements, standards and processes.

Leadership experience with a task or project.

Experience with document creation and document release in a product data management system

Experience with DoD and U.S. Government Engineering proposals and bidding requirements.

Demonstrated experience with development, design and project level responsibility on systems or major subsystems.

Experience with program requirements management in a DOORS Database

Experience as a hardware design engineer coupled with experience through manufacturing and deployment

cycles.

Experience with Radar and Military electronics design is desirable.

Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with other engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Materials, Environmental, Software, and Industrial engineers.

Required Education (including Major):

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, Systems or Aerospace preferred.

Advanced degree a plus

This position can be a salary grade level of G07 or G08 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibilities required for the position.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
