Assembler

We are looking for an Assembler to join our Tewksbury team!

As Lead Assembler with Curtiss-Wright’s TCG team, your responsibility is the accurate and efficient assembly of wiring components.

You will provide a critical independent contribution in the effective delivery of our wire and cable products supporting real-time exchange of tactical information on land, in the sea and air.

Your Challenge

  • Build cable harnesses per instruction such as cutting, stripping, and crimping. Tinning and soldering wires to pins where applicable, insertion of pins onto wires, installation of connector pins, install various components and connectors, labeling of finished harness assembly.

  • Routes and ties wires to form wire harnesses and cables used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems.

  • Neatly bind wires together using sleeves, cable lacing, cable ties, heat shrink tubing.

  • Conduct continuity testing for each wire assembly and conduct harness testing using special fixture.

  • Troubleshoot and repair failed cables, conduct inspection and testing of finished goods, incoming inspection, testing.

  • Assemble components to a final configured product utilizing specialized tooling and fixtures, measuring equipment, production documentation and visual aids.

  • Create and improve production documentation.

  • Verify quality of product at the required intervals and verify accuracy of all work.

  • Assist engineers with new product development and implementation.

  • Provide training and support to Junior assemblers as required.

  • Assist with assembly of electronic enclosures and main assembly of products as secondary responsibility.

  • Note - Work is semi-routine in nature, following established procedures.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Proficiency of crimping and assembly through a minimum 2-3 year's work experience in wire/cable assembly or similar mechanical assembly.

  • Must be able to discern cable colors, color codes.

  • Must have adequate dexterity in hands and fingers to manipulate small parts.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings and process documents, and set-up equipment.

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of all hand and power tools including basic hand tools for cutting, stripping, and crimping, a continuity checker.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is a requirement for this role.
