Essential Job Duties:
1.Collaborates with physicians and nursing staff in providing all phases of patient care. ?Administers all phases of oxygen therapy, aerosol, as well as understanding Bipap and CPAP set-up and procedure. ?Demonstrates knowledge of sleep lab hook-up procedures. ?Charts in a clear, concise manner any diagnostic or therapeutic modalities performed. ?Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias. ?Demonstrates knowledge of scoring sleep studies.
2.Demonstrates knowledge of Respiratory Therapy and/or Polysomnographic procedures and equipment. ?Utilizes accepted standards and procedures when providing care and service to the patient.
3.Demonstrates knowledge of Medical Group and departmental policies and procedures. ?Uses appropriate reference material, such as policy manual, procedure manual, PDR, and employee handbook. ?Reports and documents data accurately and consistently. ?Has a current BLS card; renews every two years. ?Is able to assist in policy and procedure development.
4.Demonstrates responsibility for professional growth. ?Attends departmental in-service programs and, when appropriate, educational workshops and seminars.
5.Shows an understanding of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
6.Performs all other tasks as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
1.Prefer one year of clinical experience as respiratory technologist or polysomnographic technologist with completion of a school of sleep medicine course.
2.Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
3.Skilled in Neurological exams, willing to learn sleep medicine.
4.Ability to perform External Cardiac Massage.
5.Flexible in schedule to meet the needs of the sleep lab department.
6.Works to maintain a quiet patient care environment.
