Amazon is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to lead our Capital Governance team as a Senior Manager (L7). In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing Amazon's capital allocation processes, ensuring that our investments align with long-term business objectives and maximize shareholder value. Key job responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of capital governance policies, processes, and best practices across Amazon's global operations.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to evaluate and prioritize capital investment proposals, ensuring alignment with Amazon's strategic goals and financial targets.
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and analytics to assess the potential return on investment (ROI) and risk profiles of major capital projects.
Partner with senior executives to provide strategic guidance on capital allocation decisions, balancing short-term needs with long-term growth opportunities.
Design and implement performance metrics and reporting systems to track the effectiveness of capital investments and identify areas for improvement.
Lead a team of Program Managers, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Represent the Capital Governance function in high-level meetings with VP/SVP executives.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact Amazon's capital allocation strategies.
Drive cross-functional initiatives to optimize Amazon's capital structure and improve overall financial performance.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure seamless coordination and execution of capital governance processes.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of team management experience
10+ years of program or project management experience
Bachelor's degree
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Deep understanding of governance, financial analysis, and corporate finance principles

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
