Job Summary

The KBR Production Maintenance Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of production equipment at our customer’s facility in Tempe, AZ. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth, efficient manufacturing operations with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in production equipment maintenance, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production machinery, including CNC machines, robotic systems, and other specialized aerospace manufacturing equipment.

  • Execute and refine preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and minimize unexpected downtime. Ensure all maintenance tasks are meticulously documented in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Utilize deep technical knowledge to address complex equipment issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions. Provide technical insights to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with production teams and engineers to coordinate maintenance activities with manufacturing schedules. Provide technical support during equipment upgrades or modifications to ensure smooth integration with existing systems.

  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of critical components to prevent production delays. Work with vendors to source high-quality parts as needed.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and streamline maintenance processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent military training, along with 7 years of hands-on experience in production equipment maintenance, particularly within the aerospace or a related high-precision industry.

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing various production equipment, including CNC machines, robotic systems, and automated manufacturing technologies. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and maintaining equipment records.

  • Expertise in precision machining and calibration of aerospace components.

  • Knowledge of advanced diagnostic tools and software used for troubleshooting complex machinery.

  • Proficiency in welding, soldering, or other specialized repair techniques.

  • Experience using SAP Plant Maintenance or Maximo.
