Fairleigh Dickinson University Coordinator for Clinical Affairs and Experiential Education in Teaneck, New Jersey

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education or the Director for Student Pharmacist Practice of the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the Coordinator for Clinical Affairs and Experiential Education is principally responsible for administrative components specific to student pharmacist practice courses (or clinical experiences) and contractual agreements with health care affiliates and experiential education partnerships for programs in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The incumbent handles verbal and written communications and external relations including scheduling of students and preceptors, special events and the promotion of positive public relations. A high level of professionalism is critical to the job given the multiple levels of professional degrees granted by the School. Health clearance and criminal background records are collected, reviewed and maintained by the Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience.

  2. Administrative experience, preferably in a pharmacy or allied health academic setting.

  3. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including editing ability and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and other staff,

  4. Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and delegate as appropriate. Must have the ability to complete tasks working both independently and with others.

  5. Advanced computer skills, particularly with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation, and publishing systems and applications. Other database (e.g., management system) experience and exposure is strongly desired. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with Datatel and/or E-value software a plus. Must have knowledge of, and experience with, Internet-based communications.

  6. Able to make sound and independent judgments and apply problem-solving skills regarding program operations.

  7. Knowledge of medical terminology and general pharmacy education concepts are strongly desired.

  8. Familiarity with HIPPA and FERPA privacy regulations, and the ability to manage sensitive information with decorum and confidentiality.

  9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
