Minimum Qualifications To qualify, the incumbent must have a bachelor's degree in a human services field and must demonstrate at least three years' experience working with and for persons with developmental disabilities. Preferred Qualifications: · Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)· Knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluating programs· Familiarity with normalization as a practice· Knowledge of Willowbrook Permanent Injunction· Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, applicable federal regulations and care coordination entities This position may be filled at 12234 Main St, Perrysburg or 5259 Parkside Dr, Canandaigua. Candidates must also be available for evening and weekend work. *This position will average around 60%-70% travel. NOTE: The position is NS (Non-Statutory) equated to SG-18. The salary listed is based on full-time 100% position.
Duties Description While working in a role created by the Federal court, the Consumer Advisory Board Program Associate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to: · Advocacy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities· Act “in loco parentis” per Federal Court Order· Evaluate individuals needs including but not limited to housing, medical and social· Monitor quality of service provisions as well as protection from harm· Assist local parent advisory groups, participate in community education programs· Participate in the placement planning process and educational/vocational program services· Must be willing to travelPreferred qualifications include knowledge of the Willowbrook Permanent Injunction as well as possess knowledge of current service provisions including OPWDD regulations, applicable federal regulations and care coordination entities.LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/nys-office-for-people-with-developmental-disabilities/posts/?feedView=all#LI-GM1
