Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Tarrytown, New York
Description
We have an excellent long-term contract opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Tarrytown, New York area. This role centers around planning, overseeing, and taking part in payroll creation and administration.
Your tasks will include:
• Managing changes that impact the payroll, like appointments, promotions, salary hikes, resignations, terminations, and leaves of absence.
• Regular review and management of payroll deductions.
• Developing the workflow process to adhere to payroll schedules.
• Calculating regular or supplementary payrolls, deductions, salary increments, final paychecks, and net pay.
• Distributing paychecks systematically.
• Responding to inquiries about payroll procedures, retirement rates, social security, health insurance, and the like, whether in person, via email, or in written form.
• Preparing and typing periodic reports covering deductions for items like health insurance, income tax, social security, and retirement.
• As assigned, process civil service papers and/or health insurance claims and maintain records.
• You will be expected to make use of computer applications like spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail, and database software to support these tasks.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is essential.
