Freedom Boat Club is the nation's oldest and largest private member boat club, and we are currently looking to add a Marine Lube Technician to our operations team. The position is full-time and requires availability on weekdays.

Job Summary:

The Marine Lube Technician will travel to dock locations throughout the Tampa territory to perform oil changes and preventive maintenance on vessels.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drains oil from marine engines and replaces it to manufacturer specifications; cleans and replaces oil filters

  • Identifies vessels requiring repair or maintenance through provided work orders and specifications

  • Identifies when and what type of preventive maintenance is required for vessels; performs the maintenance, reporting any need for additional maintenance or repairs to manager

  • Works in Fleetio and Reservation system to complete logs, reports, or other documentation related to the installation, replacement, or modification of vessel parts

  • Removes oil and grease from vessel, tools, and work area

  • Maintains inventory of parts and cleanliness in service vehicles

  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding health, safety, and environmental protection

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of marine engines and tools being used preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment

  • Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets

  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity

  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience with servicing marine engines preferred

  • Experience driving vehicles with boat trailers and launching and retrieving vessels in and out of the water preferred

  • Experience driving, maneuvering, and docking vessels preferred

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Boating safety ID card preferred

  • Vessel livery operator’s certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods driving to dock locations

  • Prolonged periods standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling in order to perform job

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

This position requires passing a pre-employment background and drug screening.
