Job Overview – SVP Business Risk and Control Group Manager

We are seeking a Business Risk and Control Group Manager that will support the TB&E Chief Operating Office organization. The individual will be responsible for providing ongoing risk and control oversight and expertise, while facilitating and executing formal risk governance routines that enable the identification, mitigation, and escalation of ongoing operational risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and report control issues with transparency, as well as effectively oversee the activity of others, when required, creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders and partners on findings and makes recommendations on improving practices.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior.

  • Assist in the management and coordination of the Managers Control Assessment (MCA) for the division.

  • Oversee and coordinate the identification, documentation and remediation of issues and corrective action plans (CAPs).

  • Identify thematic or specific control gaps, and partner to develop action plans to drive risk mitigation and remediation

  • Manage risk appetite metrics to ensure successful delivery of mitigating actions

  • Develop procedural implementation and change management process with Operations and Reporting team to ensure proper governance and controls exist.

  • Examine procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations in addition to impacts on customer experience.

  • Conduct internal testing of dispute processes to ensure control.

  • Monitor exceptions to dispute policy and identifies drivers of exceptions.

  • Leverage data to examine impacts to customer experience and regulatory breaks.

  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in a risk and controls related environment.

  • 10+ years’ experience within a technology focused organization.

  • Ability to influence lead effectively in a cross-functional organization, including the ability to influence senior leaders for complex risk and control related matters.

  • Project management experience a plus.

  • Experience with Managers Control Assessment (MCA) processes (RCSA), preferred.

  • Ability to manage and work in times of ambiguity or with multiple priorities.

  • Analytical skills and experience using analytics tools such as Excel, Access, SQL, or Cognos Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially higher-level graduate school degree

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
