Gulf Marine Repair Corporation Shipyard Outside Machinist Foreman - 2nd Shift - 3483660 in Tampa, Florida
Must have the following to apply:
- 3 years minimum supervisory experience within the ship repair or comparable industry
- 5 years directly related ship building/ship repair experience
- Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, sequencing of ship repair activities as well as shipyard safety practices
- Able to read simple blueprints and communicate the work scope to others
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measures, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals in US and metric conversion
- Able to work in confined spaces as well as work above ground at heights of 50 feet or more
- Able to climb scaffolding or ride man lifts
- Knowledge and understanding of USCG and ABS rules and regulations
- Able to coordinate multiple details related to various projects simultaneously
- Leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Must have own tools
- Bilingual is a plus

**Job Description: The company is seeking to hire an Outside Machinist Foreman who will be responsible for planning and coordinating the efforts to attain quality, schedules and objectives for the department and organization while motivating them to accomplish the work. You will direct and supervise the Outside Machinist Department and This includes manpower requirements, material, job layout and scheduling of work hours.
As an Outside Machinist Foreman, you help develop through training, productivity, and correction action if necessary as you are responsible for making your team accountable for the completion and accuracy of their work. You operate under strict quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies.
