ABOUT THIS ROLE

St. Michael’s is hiring a Senior SOF Strategic Planner/Operations Analyst to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. As the Senior SOF Strategic Planner/Operations Analyst, you develop, review and recommend implementation strategies for plans, programs, policies and resources as they relate to J3 missions, plans and functions. You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your experience coordinating with other USSOCOM Directorates, SOF Components and Theater Special Operations Commands to understand, categorize, and summarize SOF training, readiness or operational issues that impact or require senior leader decision. MacDill AFB, FL (on-site)

WHO YOU ARE

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field.

  • Graduate of a senior service college, advanced military studies school (non-Service specific) or a service intermediate college.

  • Minimum 15 years of total SOF experience, to include operational planning experience at the tactical, operational and strategic levels.

  • 10 years of experience on executive-level DOD staffs (DOD, Joint Staff, Services, or Combatant Command).

  • 10 years of experience interacting with executive-level decision makers (GO/FO/SES) and preparing detailed, strategic-level products relevant for senior (4-star level) decision making.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, review, and provide information papers and reports that support J3 programs and CDRUSSOCOM Priorities.

  • Develop, process, track, organize, and reconcile requests for information; and develop, package, coordinate and monitor new initiatives/programs or projects that support the Directorate’s mission.

  • Coordinate with other USSOCOM Directorates, SOF Components and Theater Special Operations Commands to understand, categorize, and summarize SOF training, readiness or operational issues that impact or require senior leader decision.

  • Develop courses of action and recommendations that provide coherent rationale for J3 programs, initiatives, activities and resourcing in preparation for submittal to decision makers.

  • Provide advice, analysis and recommendations on a wide range of plans, policies and activities associated with managing and resourcing J3 programs.

  • Recommend adjustments to Directorate-level policies, procedures and resourcing strategies that enhance the Directorate's ability to execute its mission.

  • Review J3 mission, organization, functions and manning, and recommend modifications as appropriate to include resourcing impacts.
