GFY is searching for a motivated Senior Roadway Project Manager for our Tampa, Lakewood Ranch, St Petersburg, or Orlando office. This individual will be vital to our growing transportation group and assist with our public sector line of business, primarily with local municipalities and FDOT.
Success in this role will be dependent on both project management abilities and pursuit/marketing efforts. This role will include strategic planning roles with leadership to identify, market, win, and manage transportation projects. You will also be supported by fellow project managers as well as upper management to help ensure success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide roadway engineering design support, project management, and Engineer of Record responsibilities.
Manage projects, collaborate with design teams, manage and oversee design and production efforts. Ensure project work is completed efficiently and in conformance with GFY's quality standards.
Check and sign off on design calculations and plan elements while ensuring completeness.
Preparing and managing design and construction contract specifications for transportation projects.
Leading and assisting with strategic pursuits and marketing efforts for public sector projects primarily with local municipalities and the FDOT.
Build new business while also managing existing relationships.
Train, mentor, and assist with development of staff within the engineering team.
Perform QA/QC tasks on projects as assigned
Handle contract administration.
Prepare and monitor project budgets. Has overall responsibility for the profitability of his/her projects.
Prepare forecast of workload for assigned staff.
Responsible for project manager and/or project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with focus in Transportation
Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
10+ years of relevant experience
ALDOT roadway design and management experience
Proficient at using MicroStation and OpenRoads
ALDOT Advanced MOT Certification preferred
Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, mentor, support, and grow the next generation of engineers and promote a great work environment.
Advanced understanding/knowledge of applicable codes and standards (including commentary)
Strong writing and communication skills
Valid United States driver's license
