Gulf Marine Repair Corporation Maintenance Mechanic - Shipyard in Tampa, Florida
Must have the following to apply:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Must have own tools
- Abilityto overhaul pumps, engines and valves, and dial-in pump motors
- Abilityto overhaul gearboxes on valve actuators and capstans
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Two or more years of experience in a shipyard environment preferred
- Communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Flexible schedule to include working overtime and weekends when required

Job Description: The company is seeking to hire aMaintenance Mechanicto perform maintenance and repairs on floating equipment., lifting equipment, over-the-road equipment, and miscellaneous shipyard equipment.The maintenance mechanic is required to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. This is a 1st shift position.
- The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on shipyard equipment, including tugs, barges, cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, chain falls, pickup trucks, mobile cranes, automobiles, portable pumps, generators, cable reels, power units, ventilator blowers, and lighting equipment
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain an organizedwork area
- Operate cranes, forklifts, air compressors, and trucks for repair purposes
- Operate in compliance with the company's standards/values
