Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Medical Assisting program, including instructional design, delivery systems, program and student evaluation, admissions and advising; ensure program complies with college, state, and federal laws, standards and guidelines
Plan and develop a variety of instructional objectives and experiences appropriate to the Medical Assisting program goals including appropriate general education requirements for the degree; teach a variety of Medical Assisting courses
Present to and engage groups of students to achieve their educational goals
Maintain positive student retention and ensure a quality educational experience
Work effectively with faculty, staff, students, administration, vendors, and other state and accrediting agencies to plan and implement the Medical Assisting program
Develop and maintaining Medical Assisting industry connections to support externship placements, employment opportunities and program growth
Demonstrate passion for the Medical Assisting field
Participate in training, observation and evaluation
Ensure compliance with University and programmatic accreditation, regulations and policies
Reporting Relationships:
The Medical Assisting Program Coordinator will report to an Academic Dean.
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in related field required, Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
Current Certified Medical Assisting or Registered Medical Assisting certification is required
Two years or more experience working in a Medical Assisting field
Persuasive communication skills, with ability to demonstrate results
High degree of customer focused experience
Some teaching or training experience is preferable, but not required
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours due to course scheduling
Active community connections to assist students with practicum/employment opportunities a plus
Must be able to provide current professional registration and/or certifications and official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution before teaching
