The role you’ll contribute: Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Under the general direction of the Chief Quality and Safety Officer, the Executive Clinical Director of Quality & Safety will provide project management, redesign processes to drive quality (safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient centered) care across the continuum (acute and ambulatory) for AdventHealth. The Executive Clinical Director Quality & Safety must lead/facilitate performance improvement teams in collaboration with the Safety and High Reliability Executive Director and the Safety Culture Executive Director, multiple clinical team leaders including facility-based Patient Safety Officers and senior administrators and team members with or without direct supervisory responsibility over team members.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

· Leads divisional quality (safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient centered) care initiatives. Collaborates with facilities to execute best practices, medical protocol development, and medical error reduction for both the acute and ambulatory care settings.

· Provides strategic direction for clinical quality performance metrics for focused service, quality, and patient safety performance, based on standardized and nationally accepted evidence-based, best practice measures in accordance with emerging national priorities for both the acute and ambulatory care settings.

· Monitors markets’ clinical performance for CMS 5 Star, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, Premier Mortality and supports development of improvement plans.

· Partners to develop, revise, and recommend AdventHealth corporate clinical policies and benchmarks that impact quality for both the acute and ambulatory care settings.

· Monitors utilization of clinical quality standards and evaluate clinical performance for both the acute and ambulatory care settings.

· Provides support to adapt clinical strategies based on upcoming regulatory and compliance changes and innovation.

· Synthesizes information from disparate sources to make informed decisions on quality.

· Supports integrated approach to quality, safety and clinical risk.

· Researches and identifies high risk opportunities around the Quality Safety Risk functions.

· Provides support to the facility Patient Safety and Quality Committees (50 ).

· Formulates and translates quality efforts into quantifiable metrics of change, to include return on investment.

· Collaborates with Analytics to develop meaningful quality dashboards and identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

· Represents AdventHealth at national level on Quality and/or Safety in healthcare

· Provides medical directorship to the content of the Patient Safety Academy

· Analyzes and recommends strategies for improvement of information from the Safety Culture survey

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position.

· Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.

· Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in planning hospital operations, budgets, and process improvement.

· Cognitive and Critical Thinking Skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Master’s Degree

· 10 years clinical experience

· High Reliability Experience

· Safety Science Experience

· 5-7 years in a leadership position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Doctoral Degree in healthcare (MD, DO)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Certification from a nationally-recognized body in a quality improvement methodology/toolset such as Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, etc. Certification in additional toolsets may be required as organizational needs evolve.

· Certified Professional in Patient Safety or equivalent.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

· Project management professional (PMP)

· Certification in their profession (example: American Board of Medical Specialist board certification for physician/surgeon)
