We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in Tampa, Florida. The role involves the management and optimization of Oracle and MS SQL databases in a 24x7x365 environment, providing technical guidance to engineering teams, and maintaining the efficiency and scalability of the database system.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical direction on query optimization and best practices to various departments.

• Enhance the operational efficiencies of database schema, SQL queries, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery processes.

• Oversee data retention and storage management.

• Monitor the core production system services for proper disk and CPU utilization, ensuring the seamless operation of internal applications.

• Research new products and upgrades to maximize the efficiency and scalability of the database system.

• Document and improve existing departmental procedures, policies, and workflows.

• Manage security related aspects of the Oracle databases following contemporary industry best practices.

• Maintain development, test, and UAT database systems and provide data maintenance services and refresh as required.

• Document database design, integration processes, and disaster recovery processes.

• Perform tuning and optimization as required.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role with a minimum of 5 years in the field

• Proficient in the use of Database tools and software

• Familiarity with EO/IR systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server

• Knowledge of Backup Technologies

• Proficient in Cluster Analysis

• Experience in Configuration Management and Database Administration

• Familiarity with Design Controls

• Proficiency in Oracle DB

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Good communication and collaboration abilities
