Robert Half ERP Functional Lead in Tampa Bay Metro Area, Florida

Robert Half Management Resources is sourcing for highly technical, senior level Accounting / Finance professionals with proven experience supporting or leading the Accounting and/or Finance function of an organization through phases an ERP implementation or integration in a functional capacity. There is a strong preference for this individual to be located in the Tampa Bay Metro area. However, candidates who are willing to travel on short notice (particularly if located in other areas of Florida as opposed to out-of-state / different time zones) may also be considered.

An ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Functional Lead / Consultant is a key role in companies transitioning to or integrating a new ERP system and involves functioning as a liaison between IT and the Accounting / Finance function through various phases of the initiative to ensure for a successful, efficient, and sustainable implementation. In addition, the individual in this role is expected to have a strong understanding of financial processes and transactions, along with technical expertise related to the respective ERP system ideally (or at least with ERP implementation in general). Depending upon the organization, the ERP Functional Lead might also need to be familiar with a particular industry's best practices and regulations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Implementation and Management: Lead or support the ERP implementation initiative and manage the various phases of the project as it pertains to the Accounting/Finance function, often inclusive of maintaining, upgrading, and adapting the system as necessary.

  • Requirements Gathering: Liaise with the finance team and other stakeholders to understand business financial processes and data needs and translate these into ERP system requirements.

  • Training: Train and support end users in the company (typically the finance team) on how to use the system most effectively.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Ensure that data entered into the system is correct and useful and pull reports as needed for management or financial analysis.

  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot any ERP issues, working with IT teams or vendors as needed, and help to resolve any functional problems within the ERP system.

  • Process Improvement: Consistently work towards improving financial business processes within the ERP system to eliminate inefficiencies and streamline operations.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience having liaised primarily with the Accounting / Finance function of an organization for at least one ERP implementation in a support or lead capacity, multiple instances preferred

  • Strong Accounting / Finance foundational experience, ideally across a variety of industries

  • Prior experience utilizing and/or implementing multiple large ERP platforms, such as SAP, Oracle (NetSuite and other Oracle ERP platforms), Microsoft Dynamics (all ERP platforms), Workday, Sage Intacct, etc.

  • Technical / analytical skills, foundational accounting/financial acumen, project management, and superior soft skills and communication skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related fields of study highly preferred, Master's Degree a plus

  • Certifications, such as CPA, PMP, CFA, etc. are a huge plus
