Summary
The Head of Risk is responsible for implementing and managing Wallester's comprehensive Risk Management process, including ensuring Wallester has sufficient processes in place to effectively manage Operational Risk. Supporting the Group CRO, the Head of Risk will be the focal point for Wallester's day-to-day Risk Management activity.
Responsibilities
Responsible for implementing and maintaining Wallester's Risk Management Policy and Policies and Procedures relating to Operational Risk Management.
Identifying areas where additional policies and procedures are required, drafting and implementing these.
Advising all areas of Wallester on improvements to be made to ensure suitable and effective Risk Management arrangements are in place; including being a key stakeholder in change management processes.
Defining, implementing and maintaining Risk reporting methodologies; including Key Risk Indicators and Incident reporting.
Maintaining Risk tools within Wallester; keeping them up to date and working with Vendors to ensure they are fit for purpose.
Work closely with Regulatory Compliance to ensure Wallester's Risk Management approach meets the standard expected from the Estonian FSA.
Maintain Wallester's Enterprise Risk Assessment; working with all business areas to conduct Risk Control Self-Assessment exercises.
Coordinate existing Risk Management activity in key areas such as IT and AML, supporting the maintenance of these documents and aligning them with the new centralized framework.
Monitor business progress against Risk Action Plans, Audit findings or any other risk-related activity.
Communication with the Estonian FSA on risk management issues (filling out questionnaires, participation in on-site and off-site controls, etc.).
Participation in internal audits.
Requirements
Minimum three years of experience in Operational Risk and/or related Risk disciplines within Financial Services.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of regulatory expectations for Operational Risk; namely those from the Estonian FSA and the EBA.
Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, including technical teams.
Strong technical knowledge and proven ability to work closely with IT and other technical business areas.
English and Estonian speaker essential.
