Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Pay: $47,000 - $52,000 Annually

Position Summary: This position involves work coordinating and carrying out technical functions of the Human Resources Office of the Attorney General’s Office. This position serves as the Selection and OnBoarding Coordinator for the Department. This is a highly responsible position necessitating the ability to perform the major portion of the duties assigned with a minimum amount of supervision and requiring the ability to work well with numerous and varied individuals both inside and outside the Department in a tactful and helpful manner. This position uses discretion and independent judgement when certifying position requirements and hiring practices.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.

A master's degree can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Preferences may be given to applicants with:

  • Above average computer skills, ex: Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro, and search engine databases.

    The Work You Will Do: This position’s duties include but not limited to the following:

  • Functions as Selection and OnBoarding Subject Matter Expert. Recommends, develops, and provides in-person and online training within the Department on selection requirements for Position Action Requests (PARs) and OnBoarding.

  • Lead for Selection and OnBoarding content development and updates for Human Resources Office Intranet site. Develops and maintains an electronic Selection and OnBoarding Desk Guide of critical tasks and backup resources. Responsible for reviewing and approving all selection packages for hires, promotions, demotions, reassignments, pay increases, etc. Ensures that the selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications for the position, all appropriate documentation has been included, and all required approvals have been obtained.

  • Processes and oversees backgrounds (JIS), selective service, retirement, and attorney bar membership checks for employment purposes.

  • Coordinates with classification staff to ensure that any organization management changes required to positions with PARS are processed timely in the People First system.

  • Serves as agency JIS Coordinator for the Human Resources Office.

  • Serves as Veteran’s Preference Subject Matter Expert, coordinator for the Department and coordinator with staff to ensure Department compliance. Recommends, develops, and provides in-person and online training within the Department on Veteran’s Preference requirements.

  • Serves as secondary back-up for Organizational Management/Classification Coordinator.

  • Responds to inquiries, verbal and written, relating to personnel policies and procedures. Attends meetings and seminars which are related to human resources, as needed.

  • Serves as a backup for answering the main telephone line for the Human Resources office.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
