SPECIAL NOTES:

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing or Economics from an accredited college or university ispreferred.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.

  • Punctuality and Reliability.

    Additional preferences:

  • One (1) year of FLAIR experience.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Detailed oriented.

  • Experience answering a multi-line phone.

    Due to the job duties of this position, the work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday with an hour lunch.

    This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

    The anticipated hiring salary is $40,000.00, depending on experience and education.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication. Knowledge of basic arithmetic. Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to organize data into logical format. Ability to evaluate and analyze data, identify errors, and take corrective action. Ability to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to retirement. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to compose correspondence. Ability to work independently. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculation.

    Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to deferred compensation Benefit. Knowledge of the Deferred Compensation Plan and other related tax-Deferred retirement programs. Ability to maintain financial spreadsheets.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

  • Provides quality customer service to all participants and State employees. Receives incoming telephone calls and electronic messages in support of our customer service function. Answers questions about the Plan organization, policies, and procedures. Explains Plan policy and procedures to state employees, current participants, and Investment Providers (for example: federal regulations and procedures). Communicates detailed information concerning available investment options. Distribute information about the Plan upon request.

  • Reviews, coordinates, and processes participant requests for Operational transactions including, Distributions, Unforeseeable Emergency Withdrawals, Company to Company Transfers, Loans, Rollovers, Purchase of Prior Service Credits. Scrutinize requests to ensure participants meet the eligibility requirements and required documents are complete and accurate. Validates and reconciles participant’s account information and corresponds with IP and Record Keeper to expediently resolve discrepancies to avoid delays in transactions.

  • Organizes, maintains, and enters participant’s information into the Complete Access of Participant Records Information (CAPRI) database system relating to transaction requests. Coordinates with IPs to rectify any pending actions.

  • Prepares IP authorization for the requested transaction from the participant’s account, initiates the correction of errors, and makes adjustments due to changes or cancellations on assigned transactions. Validates and updates electronic documentation in CAPRI to reflect completion of the transactions which is used in preparation for status reports and external audits. Validates electronic documentation of processed transactions.

  • Reviews and prepares correspondence to participants, beneficiaries, and IPs to obtained pertinent information required to respond appropriately to requests for services related to the Plan. Counsels’ participants on Plan transactions and related IRS rules.
