TheCriminal Investigations Divisionencompasses all law enforcement and forensic components residing within the Department of Financial Services. With this broad responsibility, the division investigates a wide range of fraudulent and criminal acts including:

SPECIAL NOTES:
High School Diploma or its' equivalent isrequired.
Additional requirement:
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferences:
Two (2) years of direct experience in criminal justice agency or public assistance policies. An associate degree may substitute for the preferred experience.
One (1) year of experience working in criminal justice agencyorone (1) year of experience working with public assistance policies.
Special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal & written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.
This is position will hire at $15.00 an hour.
Applicant must be available to work 20 hours a week Monday through Friday (additional hours as needed).
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check which includes a financial credit report, and fingerprinting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate a large volume of work assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to effectively communicate with others using the telephone.
Ability to multi-task assignments.
Must display excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
If applicable, (Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.)
Displays knowledge, skills, and ability to perform job.
Utilizes public and private data systems in the gathering, examination, and evaluation of intelligence information.
Requests and receives information of a confidential nature. Communicate clearly and effectively orally, in writing, and by telephone.
Directly supports and assists internal investigators in the compilation and analysis of confidential information regarding public assistance fraud investigations.
Performs criminal history and intelligence checks in reference to investigations for all internal investigators as directed.
Performs detailed research of criminal investigations and documents relating to public assistance fraud.
Identifies, compiles, analyzes, and disseminates pertinent intelligence information to various local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies requesting assistance.
Must obtain and maintain FCIC/NCIC certification.
Applies current Florida Statutes, DFS Policies and Procedures, and current case law relevant to all job-related functions, as applicable.
