Data Processing Manager - SES – 70025395
This advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service position located at Central Office in Systems Development.
Salary: $86,520.20 - $91,927.94 Annual Range
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the planning, design, and integrity of the department’s Data Base and Data Administration environment and the development, implementation and maintenance of the information systems development methodology (ISDM), quality improvement initiatives, archiving and records management policies, strategic data planning, data standardization, system testing and guidelines, and quality reviews. The candidate must be customer focused, foster teamwork and collaboration and possess excellent communication and team building skills. The duties and responsibilities of this position are:
As a supervisor, this position communicates with, motivate, provide or coordinate training, evaluate employee’s work, plan and direct the employees’ work, and has authority to hire or recommend the hire, transfer or discipline subordinate employee.
Manage and supervise the activities, deadlines, work objectives, and the utilization in the Data Base and Data Administration sections.
Develop and monitor technical standards, procedures, and techniques for the management of the Data Base and Data Administration personnel.
Review, analyze, and establish system priorities and determine the allocation of available resources in the Data Base and Data Administration sections.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive long-range plan to meet the department’s system requirements by conducting capacity planning and performance meetings.
Develop and manage a comprehensive unit test plan and establish the relationship between unit and system testers by clarifying the objectives of unit testing – including the role of the programmers as the primary testers.
Review and implement quality assurance techniques that will make the systems development effort more productive.
Ensure data base reorganizations are properly planned, scheduled, and implemented.
Establish a framework of common meta-data (data about the data collected) including content, definition, and format standards for consistently documenting data resources to improve the reliability of data resources.
Minimize duplication in collecting, processing, storing, and distributing information by facilitating data access and sharing.
Provide technical advice and technical assistance to Systems Development and other bureaus in troubleshooting problems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Seven (7) or more years of SQL administration experience, where at least five (5) or more years were administering a SQL 2012 (or higher) environment.
Writing, testing and executing SQL and T-SQL code.
Writing, testing, troubleshooting and executing SSIS packages.
Building SQL views and stored procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university or four (4) years of experience in Management Information Systems or Information Technology.
Seven (7) or more years of managing teams of up to ten (10) staff.
Willing to provide after-hours on-call duties.
