Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position will assist in/work:

  • collaboratively with the EAT Director

  • to coordinate the creation, internal communications, launch, and maintenance of internal databases and inventories to promote accountability and transparency within Commerce’s operations.

  • Identify opportunities to promote accountability, transparency, and operational efficiencies that support Commerce’s goals.

  • with implementing best practices to accomplish Commerce’s ’s goals and priorities and to proactively inform stakeholders and the public about Commerce’s ’s critical objectives and priority issues.

  • Support process improvement and implementation activities through policy analysis, data analysis, and research to improve transparency and accountability.

  • Support Commerce’s strategic planning activities by identifying and leveraging opportunities to streamline operational efficiencies.

  • Encourage internal collaboration and communication by working proactively and effectively to maintain relationships with Commerce’s Divisions.

  • Coordination of Long-Range Program Plan development and production.

  • Assist in the synchronizing of key Commerce performance metric reporting as well as validation processes.

  • Audit response coordination and reporting.

  • Review program performance and Legislative reports.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of statistical and data analytical techniques and methods.

  • Superior editing and written communication skills.

  • Superior verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • High level of proficiency in professional technology solutions (Microsoft Office, Data Analytic Tools, Adobe, SmartSheet).

  • Lean Six Sigma process evaluation techniques.

  • Ability to be a hands-on team player.

  • Ability to be proactive and work efficiently.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and data analysis skills, and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of Process mapping.

  • Knowledge of Project management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to express facts and ideas in a succinct and organized manner and make clear and convincing oral presentations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others by listening and facilitating an open exchange of ideas.

  • Ability to learn and develop an understanding of complex organizational and performance, monitoring, financial processes and systems.

  • Ability to apply technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of work assignments.

    Qualifications:

    As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.

    Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.

  • Travel may be required to travel.

  • Pay:

60,000 - 70,000 based on experience

Under the direction of the Florida Commerce supervisor (Economic Accountability and Transparency Deputy (EAT) Director), this position is responsible for supporting Commerce’s critical objectives and priority issues by organizing resources, expertise, data, and research to focus on and solve the complex economic challenges facing the state.
