IBM Application Consultant - Business Functions - Retail in Taipei, Taiwan

Introduction

IBM Application Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Application Consultant-Red Hat Cloud(Java) are required to involve with the process, life cycle and creation of the software solution to our clients in their businesses. You will work closely with critical stakeholders in using languages such as Java to develop the necessary specifications for software. You may also test, debug and improve generally faulty applications for clients.

Specifically, you will

  • Define, detail and scope the technical requirements into solution architecture and drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint.

  • Design, develop and/or re-engineer application components, and integrate software packages, programs, and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms.

  • Support Technical Consultants and lead in building solutions and providing technical mentoring and guidance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Information Technology, Business or related fields.

  • Programming experience with Java, servlet, MVC, Spring Boot.

  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming and Design Patterns.

  • Understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL. (e.g. Postgres, Redis etc.)

  • Practical knowledge of Message Queue. (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ etc.)

  • Practical knowledge of web technologies. (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.)

  • Practical knowledge of using source code management. (e.g. git, svn)

  • Practical knowledge of debugging, root cause finding, problem-solving and issue tracking skills.

  • Basic knowledge in systems development lifecycle.

  • Good communication and team working skill.

  • Fluent in Chinese reading, listening, writing, and speaking/fluent in English reading and writing.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience creating highly available, large-scale enterprise applications.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps.

  • Experience with cloud platform and cloud development. (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure, Openshift etc.)

  • Practical Knowledge of Waterfall model, Agile Development, Scrum, Kanban Method.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity requirement and communicate effectively.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions strongly desired.

  • Working level in English speaking.
