Catholic Community Services Family Visitation Specialist-Case Aid in Tacoma, Washington
$15.92 – $18.30 HR/ DOE
Family Visitation Specialist provides family support services by transporting infants and children for visits with their birth families, monitoring and supervising those visits, and documenting observations of that contact.
Foster Care Child Support Aide Services, commonly referred to as Case Aide Services, augment supervision and activity plan for children whose behaviors of developmental needs cannot be manage in a foster home without additional assistance.
Assignments will be made by the child’s CCS Case Manager for Family Visitation and Child Support Aide Services.
Family Visitation Specialist
Assist with transportation of infants/children for visits with their families;
Monitor and supervise visits between infant/child and birth family;
Document observations of the quality and content of the contact between child(ren) and family during visits;
Foster Care Child Support Aide Services
Provide physical and behavioral support that ensures the health, safety and well-being of the child in their current placement and in the community.
Provide physical assistance and support to the child to prevent injury to self and others as needed.
Provide protective supervision for the child at all time that is appropriate for the child-assessed level of supervision and is in accordance with the approved child specific service and supervision plan.
Provide written progress reports to the assigned CCS case manager.
Family Visitation Specialist/Foster Care Child Support Aide Services
Cooperate with case plans and participate in meetings as requested.
Report suspected child abuse to supervisor and/or CPS as requested.
Notify case manager and/or supervisor of any significant event with a foster child or foster home (i.e. injury that requires medical attention, running away, physical assault, and use of restraint) and provide a written incident report.
Testify in dependency or termination court hearings as necessary.
Notify case manager or supervisor within 24 hours if unable to perform assigned shift.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Other duties as may be reasonably assigned.
AA degree or two years of college education in human services or relevant field or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Must be minimum of 21 years old
Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment.
Current CPR/FA certification
Proof of negative TB test within past 12 months and ability or test within first six months of employment.
Have relevant experience with children
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and provide current auto registration.
Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS’ driving policy, (required to provide current driving abstract)

BA in Social Services or relevant field.
Experience working with infants and children with special needs and their families
Experience in the social service or mental health field
Experience with people with developmental disabilities
Knowledge of community resources
