EAG Laboratories is looking for a Scientist to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The Scientist will be responsible for initiating the design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific analysis using ICP-MS to solve complex and difficult problems in a given area. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and may contribute to scientific literature and conferences. Ensures that schedule budget and performance requirements are met and that the technical quality meets standards. May coordinate interdepartmental activities efforts.Job Duties:Applies standard and non-standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out complex analytical work to determine the composition, properties, and/or structure of materials.Maintains specified records of test data.Prepares reports on analytical results for customers, including interpretation of results.Provides technical review for other analysts reports.Develops new protocols and processes.Evaluates customer requests, determines testing requirements, and prepares project quotations.Is able to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.May direct complete revenue-producing projects.Protects confidential information and proprietary processes.Handles customer materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient manner.Assists in training of analysts, scientists, and technicians.Is familiar with relevant quality system documents and complies with all system requirements.Other duties as may be assigned.Provides technical review for other analysts reports.Is familiar with relevant quality system documents and complies with all system requirements.Other duties as may be assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:BS in science/engineering plus 10+ years diverse and specifically relevant experience; or MS plus 8+ years; or PhD plus 5+ years.Experience should include diverse and complex analytical testing techniques and may include performing research. Materials characterization experience highly desirable.Well-developed technical writing skills required, as well as the ability to communicate scientific theories and principles clearly.Must be a proficient communicator and listener.Able to work with minimal supervision.Able to work individually and as part of a team.Needs to have excellent relationship-building skills.Computer literate, high level of accuracy and detail oriented. Must be able to handle multiple functions at the same time and maintain good organizational skills.
