We are looking for graduate nurses to join our highly specialized Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). Opportunities include Growing Mechanical Support Program (ECMO and Impella), Advanced Modality training (Impella, IABP, VAD, Impella and ECMO) and cross training opportunities within the service line. We are devoted to flexible scheduling and work hard to balance and meet the needs of the unit and staff. We will consider full time only for RN Residents.
We offer the Vizient RN Residency Program to all graduates with less than 6 months of acute RN care experience.

Our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 20 bed, state of the art unit caring for patients after open heart and vascular surgery. Specialized training includes CORE EKG classes, balloon pump, ECMO, CRRT, VAD, Impella, Open Heart, Critical Event Management Training (CEMT), Ventilator/Respiratory class, PD. Responsibilities:
Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.
Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
Provide quality critical care monitoring, med/surge nursing interventions and hands on skills including class I telemetry, cardiac drips, post-surgical care, ECMO, respiratory/ventilation support and more.
Participate on emergency response team.
Vent rounds with interdisciplinary team.
Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
Participates in monitoring quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure or GN Permit Form 5 in the State of New York .
Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.
Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Physical Demands:

GN Pay Range: $32.00 - $38.60
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
