Procurement Specialist - Solvay, NY

Salary range: $58,500 - $97,500

The Opportunity:

The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for issuing service purchase orders and purchasing and maintaining the facility\u2019s materials inventory. The successful candidate will report to the Procurement Manager.

\u2022 Administers and model\u2019s safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and supports the safety programs for the Mill.

\u2022 Fully focused and engaged in all aspects of designated responsibility.

\u2022 Aligns personal behaviors to WestRock\u2019s values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence

\u2022 Complies with all environmental rules and policies

\u2022 Works with internal business partners to help streamline their procurement activities

\u2022 Executes new vendor initiation and setup

\u2022 Assist accounting with invoice resolution

\u2022 Support company initiatives as required - storeroom inventory reductions, inventory consignment and Pick, Kit and Delivery process.

\u2022 Backup storeroom supervisor and others as necessary

\u2022 Reads and reviews supplier contracts; work closely with legal and business partners to execute appropriate contracts.

\u2022 Executes RFP process

\u2022 Creates purchase orders as required

\u2022 Assists across various departments to ensure timely and accurate renewals of contracts

\u2022 Participates on the weekend duty rotation

What you need to succeed:

\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor\u2019s degree is preferred

\u2022 3-5 years Procurement experience preferred

\u2022 Significant Procurement process and policy knowledge

\u2022 Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented personality

\u2022 Ability to problem solve, work independently and multi-task in fast-paced environment

\u2022 Proficiency in MS Office, JD Edwards, etc. preferred

\u2022 Ability to work in a team environment

\u2022 Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, word processing software and email.

\u2022 Ability to work safely in the mill environment.

\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
