SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Residency Program Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Upstate University Hospital Nurse Residency Program, including teaching, facilitating, and updating seminars/ Seminar content. They will assist in implementing initiatives and processes which align Upstate Nursing with the most recent ANCC PTAP Accreditation criteria, and will participate in the composition of the ANCC PTAP self study document for accreditation. They will oversee and coordinate NRP associated events (graduation, facilitator training, etc.), support rounds with nurse residents and their respective nurse managers, assist in the maintenance of all NRP associated databases. The coordinator will also maintain and further develop relationships with nursing programs/ colleges, as well as nursing students in the community by participating in community outreach, including primary and secondary career days, information sessions at schools of nursing, and Upstate Nursing Recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Registered Nurse, current NYS license, and registration required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Minimum of 3 years post-licensure acute care nursing experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and networking and skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in nursing or education or matriculation in a masters program preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office strongly preferred, including Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Outlook. Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with education or mentoring in a nursing or health care setting, and nursing leadership role. Specialty certification as a nurse educator (CNE), or in nursing professional development (NPD) preferred.

Work Days:

Mon- Fri 8 hr shifts
