Salary Range:$90,000 - $120,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Complete work assignments related to highway design, drainage design, alignments, and other duties applicable to these projects.
Develop preliminary and final design plans for new highway projects or improvements to existing infrastructure.
Ensure designs adhere to safety standards, local regulations, and best practices.
Provide direction and oversight to internal design staff.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, sub consultants and regulatory approving agencies.
Serves as design contact with the client and other design professionals and contractors.
Attend project kick off meetings.
Conduct routine project design meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and maintain accurate and complete project files.
Lead internal team by scheduling and conducting internal design meetings and reviewing the work of other technical staff assigned to the project.
Assist project manager with project presentations, proposed project schedules and development tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Develop creative and strategic design options that meet client’s goals.
Preliminary and final design, engineering systems coordination, and cost analysis.
Specification and materials research.
Maintain accurate records of project details, including design documents, progress reports, and budget information.
Requirements
Education & Experience
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
10-15 years minimum of transportation experience, highway engineering experience preferred.
Professional Engineering License required.
Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads software preferred.
