SUNY Upstate Medical University Clinical Assistant Professor in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary: Candidate should possess interest and skills in echocardiography, nuclear medicine and other cardiac imaging modalities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate should be licensed in nuclear cardiology and have experience in all aspects of echocardiography, including stress echo, transesophageal echo, and intra-operative echocardiography.
Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate candidate is an academically oriented interventional cardiologist interested in performing cutting edge procedures in the Cath Lab with the most current tools available. Experience and proficiency in structural and/or peripheral interventions is a desirable plus. The candidate is expected to perform routine cardiac catheterizations and appropriate interventions in the Cath Lab. They are also expected to take overnight and weekend call as assigned equitably among interventional cardiologists. During the weekend they are expected to round on patients in CCU who are primarily on the interventional cardiology service, or have mechanical circulatory support devices for hemodynamic support. Depending upon the level of interest, they can choose to function as primary attendings for the coronary care unit on a weekly basis. They are also expected to help with reading echocardiograms and myocardial perfusion studies (if board-certified). All cardiologists at Upstate are expected to teach both at bedside as well as didactically, medical students, residents and fellows. They are expected to present conferences, grand rounds and nursing teaching sessions as required. All cardiologists are expected to perform clinical research in their area of interest, and are encouraged to seek independent grants from appropriate sources.
