SUNY Upstate Medical University Associate Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, regulatory compliance, fiscal oversight, physician partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives at both Downtown and Community Hospital Peri-Op departments (PAT, Surgery Center, PACU, OR, SPD). The Director of Nursing assumes overall responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, plans, and standards of the organization and patient care services within their defined areas of responsibility. Specific duties include management and evaluation of clinical operations, customer and staff satisfaction, quality management, standards, certification and accreditation activities, professional practice activities, nursing staff education, and developing community relationships. Reports to the Executive Director or Deputy Director of Nursing with latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered or eligible RN required. Minimum of 7 years post-acute care RN experience including 5 years of nursing management experience in a health care environment required. BSN and Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field required. Experience should include relationships with medical staff, health planning, quality management, human resource development, and management required. Effective leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills required. CPR-BLS certification is required by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nursing Executive certification upon appointment or obtained within 2 years of appointment is preferred.
