Description

Chris Preble is working with a Syracuse manufacturing company that is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to help manage the accounting department as this company continues to grow. Key Responsibilities as you report into the CFO

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

  • Liaising with external auditors.

  • General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

  • Cost Accounting:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and provide insights on cost control and reduction.

  • Work closely with the production team to understand cost drivers and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely processing and payment.

  • Monitor cash flow and manage credit policies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Current and relevant accounting experience in a diverse position
