WATTS Product Manager in Sydney, Australia

Responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Role Purpose

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Accountability

The Product Manager is accountable to the Research and Development Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in Product Management, preferably within plumbing industry

  • Strong project management skills

  • Thorough understanding of Product management lifecycles

  • Experience in business to business selling strategies

  • Solid experience in new product development

  • Strong computer skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills

    Qualifications

  • Tertiary Business (or related) qualification

    Duties

    The Product Manager is required to undertake the following duties:

Develop and implement the Product Strategy for the relevant product portfolio

  • Specify Marketing requirements for the portfolio

  • Create the life cycle strategy for the portfolio

  • Collate competitor information and expected responses

  • Develop Product user requirement specifications

Conduct ongoing research and investigation into trends and future needs of portfolio

  • Track customer experience of the portfolio

  • Track product performance and act on performance data

Communicate with stakeholders on portfolio development and commercialisation

  • Provide educational content and presentations to internal and external clients

  • Maintain and establish relationships with key stakeholders

  • Manage successful launch of new or improved products or parts

Monitor and commercially guide product development and lifecycle

  • Manage key supply partner relationships

  • Manage product cost prices with Suppliers

  • Monitor product sales and profit against budget

  • Scrutinise production related product issues

  • Manage the release of products for the portfolio

  • Manage the lifespan of the products

  • Vet and process all requests for non-standard products related to your portfolio

  • Possess a committed work ethic with the desire to take ownership and responsibility and accountability for his/her work
